Inflatable anchor sandbag weight
Holiday yard inflatable ballast heuristic: multiply anchor points (D-rings) by pounds per point from a height/wind tier table. Follow the manufacturer — this is not EN14960 engineering certification.
total_lbs = anchor_points × lbs_per_point (from height/wind tier)
When to use
This tool helps when you want a planning ballast figure for holiday yard inflatables with the assumptions written down. You will enter height, wind tier (or custom lbs/point), and number of D-rings/anchor points.
Tiers are homeowner heuristics for Christmas/Halloween blow-ups — not bounce-house certification math.
Always follow the product manual for stakes, tethers, and ballast. Deflate in high wind warnings.
Approximate inflated height of the yard décor.
Pick a tier or enter a custom pounds-per-point value.
Used only when tier is Custom.
Count tether points on the base or legs.
Worked example
Example defaults — Height = 8 ft; Moderate tier; 4 points. Moderate heuristic uses about 20 lbs/point for mid-height décor → 80 lbs total ballast planning figure.
Compute with: total_lbs = anchor_points × lbs_per_point after selecting a tier table value.
When the manual specifies ballast or stake patterns, prefer the manufacturer over this heuristic.
Limits / assumptions
Units: feet for height; pounds for ballast. Mixing without converting invents a wrong answer.
Where the formula fails: sail-like shapes, saturated ground, ice, and storms are outside the simple tier table.
Not a substitute: this is a holiday yard decorating heuristic — not EN14960 bounce-house engineering certification or a structural opinion.
Follow the manufacturer’s staking and ballast instructions. Deflate and store inflatables before high-wind warnings. This calculator is not an engineering certification (not EN14960).
FAQ
What are the tier lbs/point?
Calm ≈ 10–15; moderate ≈ 20; windy ≈ 30+ lbs per point as planning heuristics — adjust for your product and site.
Sandbags vs stakes?
Many setups use both. This page focuses on ballast weight; use a stake-count tool for ground anchors.
Tall air dancers?
Higher sail area needs more ballast and shorter unattended run times in wind.
Is this certified?
No — holiday decorating heuristic only. Bounce-house / EN14960 tools are a different domain.
