Lighted deer spacing

Plan how many lighted yard deer (or similar animal sculptures) fit along a display frontage at your chosen spacing.

Formula count = floor(frontage_ft ÷ spacing_ft) + 1 · depth_rows optional

When to use

This tool helps when you want a lighted deer spacing planning figure with the assumptions written down. You will enter display frontage (feet), center-to-center spacing (feet), depth rows (front to back), and stagger offset for back rows (feet).

Plan how many lighted yard deer (or similar animal sculptures) fit along a display frontage at your chosen spacing. Keep units consistent (feet vs inches, watts vs amps), then use the formula box to see how each term contributes.

Stop and ask a licensed electrician when loads, hardwired outlets, or roof work go beyond temporary plug-in holiday displays.

Leave room so antlers and lights do not tangle — often 6–12 ft.

Stagger a second row behind for a herd look.

0 = aligned; 3–5 ft offset looks more natural.

Worked example

Example inputs from the form defaults — Display frontage (feet) = 40; Center-to-center spacing (feet) = 8; Depth rows (front to back) = 1; Stagger offset for back rows (feet) = 4 — are plausible homeowner figures, not a survey of your roofline.

Compute with: count = floor(frontage_ft ÷ spacing_ft) + 1 · depth_rows optional. Show intermediates before the final count or cost.

When the calculator and scratch math disagree, fix units first; the lighted deer spacing model is only as good as consistent inputs.

Limits / assumptions

Assumptions: inputs match the hints (measured eaves, nameplate watts, package strand length, and so on). Terms not named in the formula are not secretly included.

Limits: outdoor weather, GFCI trips, and real stock sizes vary. Prefer outdoor-rated cords and clips; ladder and roof work need their own safety practices.

Responsibility: confirm safety-critical electrical and height decisions with manuals and, when needed, a qualified professional. PWC Lights does not stamp displays.

Anchor each sculpture per the maker’s stakes. Keep cords GFCI-protected and out of walk paths. Estimates ignore driveway setbacks required by HOA rules.

FAQ

Hero triangle?

Place the tallest buck as a focal point, then space smaller deer forward/side — this tool sizes the linear count.

Mixed sizes?

Use the largest piece’s clearance for spacing so smaller ones still fit.

Power daisy-chains?

Check each sculpture’s connectable limit and your outlet load tool.

Can I use candy-cane lane spacing?

Candy canes are thin markers; deer need wider clearances and often staggered rows.
